Happy Saturday!

We hope everyone is getting along without Get-Along around! We mention him today because as we finalize our script and reread what we’ve written thus far, Get-Along is somewhat of the opening star.

We are excited about the future of CrabbieMasters. We have several irons in the fire, so to speak, and we are looking forward to hearing something this spring.

No matter what, the CrabbieMasters book series will be brought to you. We are so happy to have such wonderful books for you. The test driving has been good. We’ve had no negative feedback.

Our screenwriter is enjoying the project, and we’re excited to see the final copy. We can’t share it with all of you just yet, but someday we hope you’ll see the Crabbies on the big screen, or the small screen if you don’t have a big screen.

We hope you are having a great weekend and that wherever you are, the weather is nice. Spring is just around the corner and soon the birds, bees and butterflies will be back. We are looking forward to the chirping, buzzing and wing flapping. And we are looking forward to having more CrabbieMasters like you!

Poor, poor Achy

We were saddened to learn that Achy isn’t feeling well. King told us that he has the flu. The Crabbie who likes to make us sick is sick himself.

Wherever you live, there’s a good chance that the “flu bug” as it’s sometimes called, is going around. That means aches and pains, coughing and sneezing, and feeling blah.

The flu bug got a grip on Achy. He’s getting a taste of his own medicine, so to speak.

Those of us at Team CrabbieMasters wish Achy a speedy recovery and if you have the flu too, we hope you’ll be up and around soon. Being sick is no fun.

There is good news! One more month until it’s officially spring. That’s right! Spring begins March 20th. We are excited to welcome the warmer weather and longer daylight!

It won’t be long and the birds will be back to greet us in the morning with singing. So… if you’re feeling under the weather, think spring and sunny days!

Honoring our presidents

Today is Presidents Day, a day when we honor the birth of Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

George Washington was born February 22, 1732 and Abraham Lincoln was born February 12, 1809.

Here are some fun facts about George Washington:

  • He was the first elected president of the United States.
  • John Adams was his vice-president.
  • He married Martha Dandridge Washington.
  • He was 57 years old when he was inaugurated as president.

Here are some fun facts about Abraham Lincoln:

  • He was the 16th president of the United States.
  • He had no middle name.
  • He was 6 feet and 5 inches tall.
  • He married Mary Todd Lincoln

There are many more fun facts for both presidents. Simply search their names and you’ll come up with plenty of good reading.

We here at Team CrabbieMasters hope you are enjoying your day and that the Crabbies aren’t getting in your way!

We are celebrating!

We here at Team CrabbieMasters received some good news today! Our agent has scored a face to face with a very important person, and our book series will be presented as a potential for a television series or movie. Meeting with anyone who will take the time to sit down and entertain a presentation is good news, and what’s even better is that this person contacted our agent after seeing the Crabbies on the Internet. We aren’t sure where they were seen, but we’re glad this important person didn’t get a visit from one of the Crabbies. That might not have gone over well.

We will celebrate and keep our fingers and toes crossed that this meeting goes well. Our agent works hard to open as many doors for us as she can, and all of the CrabbieMasters (and even the Crabbies) appreciate it.

We will keep you updated. The meeting is tentatively scheduled for June in the Big Apple (New York City). Our agent isn’t putting all her apples into one basket either (sorry about the pun). She’s working to set up other appointments.

Enjoy the weekend! See you Monday!

Team CrabbieMasters

Happy Valentine’s Day  from all of us here at Team CrabbieMasters and the Crabbies too!

We have a sheet for you to color your favorite Crabbie. We hope you enjoy our Valentine’s Day gift to you. You can ask an adult to print it for you or you can transfer it to your favorite coloring app.

We should have known…

Where have we been? Well, it’s a long story but we’ll make it short. Get-Along didn’t think we made him look favorable enough in our last blog post, so he made an appearance and brought Can’t-Do with him.

The CrabbieMasters Team had to wrangle with a malfunctioning website. We knew Get-Along and Can’t-Do were causing our problems, but we couldn’t catch them.

Crabbies can be very sneaky, and sometimes they succeed in getting into our day. We knew we needed Paul, our IT guy. He came to the rescue as did all the other CrabbieMasters. With everyone ‘Powered-Up,’ we were able to get our website back up.

We hope too many of you weren’t inconvenienced. Some said they could still get to our page, but others said they couldn’t. And… we couldn’t for a while.

We put Can’t-Do and Get-Along on notice. They won’t be messing with our website anymore!

We’ll be back tomorrow with something fun for all you kids! Until then, be sure to keep the Crabbies away from your computer!

Bye for now,

Team CrabbieMasters

Getting along with Get-Along

Whew! It’s been a long few days as we’ve been wrangling with Get-Along. You see, Get-Along got a little bit jealous (okay, a lot jealous) of King and Hurry-Up because they were featured on our blog. So… Get-Along tried to ruin the day, actually a few days, but we finally got him in line.

Before we did, he was everywhere. First, he snuck in the window at Miss Becky’s preschool. Her students knew right away what to do. They put Get-Along on notice and they sent him away. We here at Team CrabbieMasters thought that would be the end of Get-Along’s attempts, but no. Guess where he went next? He went to Jenna’s house. Do you remember Jenna? We introduced her in our last post. Well… Get-Along rang her doorbell and knocked and rang some more.

“Let me in,” Get-Along shouted.

“Who’s there?” Jenna asked.

“It’s me, Get-Along, and I want in. You were featured on Team CrabbieMasters blog, and I want equal time.”

“Sorry, Get-Along. I don’t do the blog. You need to take your complaint elsewhere and do it nicely,” Jenna politely said.

“Fine! Some help you are!” Get-Along squealed as he stormed off.

We thought that was the end of it, but the next day, who rang Miss Becky’s doorbell? You guessed it!

Miss Becky knew just what to do, and Get-Along… well, he finally gave up. But… he is getting featured. You see, sometimes when we don’t get along with someone, others see it or hear about it. So, it’s important to always try to get along with everyone 🙂

Until the next time, stay happy!

Team CrabbieMasters

Meet Jenna

While we here at Team CrabbieMasters have fun writing with kids in mind, we want to be sure to include the adults.

In case you haven’t visited our Learning Resources page, we hope you will if you’re unfamiliar with the CrabbieMaster approach. Team member Jenna Bemis has several explanatory short videos to explain the benefits of the CrabbieMaster program.

Jenna holds a Doctoral Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Minnesota. She also studied in the Department of Family Social Science and the Institute for Child Development. She routinely translates CrabbieMasters principles for managing emotions, attitudes, and behaviors into terms that are more geared toward the needs of adults. She has trained through the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts to qualify to teach Jon-Kabat Zinn’s Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program. She devotes a portion of her professional time for involvement in the CrabbieMasters Program due to truly believing it is an effective, well-developed approach for children and families.

Jenna, or any of the Team CrabbieMasters members, are happy to answer any questions you might have. If you feel there’s anything our videos didn’t cover, please drop us a line.

Have a great day,

Becky and the team
